UPDATE: May 10,2012 -- Construction has begun!

As of May 7, 2012, Work on Phase 1 of the renovation project is underway. The building has been prepared for refitting: the chimneys have been removed and capped; eave troughs have been removed; stucco has been stripped; and the boardwalk has been removed.

The building now stands ready for the next stage, which includes preparing a concrete foundation and the replacement of timbers. The building will then be lifted onto the new foundation.

This project has been many years in the making and after thousands of volunteer hours, fundraising campaigns and the support of many generous individuals it is now happening.

We will be taking photographs of the museum as work progresses over the next year. We will be adding these photos to the Photo Gallery, shown below, as they become available.
