UPDATE: July 1, 2014 -- Report to the Community

Well here we are at July 1, 2014 and the weather again has caused further delays with the Winnipegosis Museum renovation work. Good news! We have now finished plastering and painting the inside of the museum and the curators and summer students have started to move the artifacts back into the building. All work on the new board walk and steps and all outside work on the windows, doors, eaves troughs and fascia boards have now been completed. The Museum grounds have been levelled and re-seeded. The Winnipegosis Historical Society (WHS) is planning to erect benches and install a garden at the side and back of the building. We are still waiting for the weather to cooperate, so that the stucco contractor can complete his work. WHS will be opening the Museum for the 100th Centennial Celebrations. This has been a long journey, but we have almost completed the task. We are still accepting donations towards the maintenance of the Medd House and the Winnipegosis Museum.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported and continues to support the Winnipegosis Historical Society.

This is a photograph of the Railway Station as it looked in 1914.

The following photographs of the inside rooms of the Winnipegosis Museum show work in progress, as artifacts are moved back into the building. The interior of the building was painted by volunteers, during the Spring and Summer of 2014. Exhibits will be restored over the coming months, in preparation for the opening of the Museum in 2015, and in time for the 100th anniversary celebration of the Village of Winnipegosis.

When the Museum is re-opened we will be erecting a permanent plaque inside the Museum, including the names of all donors, in the following catogories:

Parkland Donors --- [donations $2,500 and over]

Lake Winnipegosis Supporters ---[donations from $500 to $2,499]

Mossey River Friends --- [donation from $50 to $499]

All donations over $20 will receive a tax-deducible receipt.
